Washington State History Museum is the largest of several strikingly beautiful buildings in the heart of downtown Tacoma's Museum District that host fabulous weddings and receptions. More than any other, it conveys a real sense of height. Outdoors, standing at the base of its large, concrete amphitheater bowl and looking up, WSHM's brick and metal arches soar high into the sky. Indoors, from the floor of the Grand Lobby where wedding ceremonies and late-reception dance parties take place, the narrow floorplan is repeated over three floors, conveniently creating separate spaces for wedding preparations, indoor ceremonies, buffet and dinner tables, and lively entertainment, with that impossibly high roof overhead.
